Les indiennes de Nîmes

Les Indiennes de Nimes continue the tradition started with the import of textiles into southern France by the India Company in the 18th century.  Later local weavers in Avignon took up the manufacture and today, Les Indiennes de Nimes are combining traditional know-how with original archive patterns to keep alive the Camargue textile heritage, especially in local feria festivals.

Worship side

The cape is back in in the wardrobes of the most devoted fashion enthusiasts but at deTOUJOURS, it never left, and it remains a classic despite the fashion trends.

Here is the traditional style worn by the Provence shepherds, with its protective over cape. Made from warm heavy woolen cloth, it falls perfectly and can be worn casually or in a more urban style. Surely the unique expertise of Les Indiennes de Nîmes, its manufacturer, conjugates well in present tense. The shepherd’s cape sure breathes an air of the “Argentinian gaucho” that has inspired Hermès in their latest collections of capes so voluminous and soft.

In short, a classic item that can easily be adapted and that will last a lifetime.
