Les indiennes de Nîmes

Les Indiennes de Nimes continue the tradition started with the import of textiles into southern France by the India Company in the 18th century.  Later local weavers in Avignon took up the manufacture and today, Les Indiennes de Nimes are combining traditional know-how with original archive patterns to keep alive the Camargue textile heritage, especially in local feria festivals.

Worship side

Gardiane Culottes were designed for the Camargue horsewoman. The pattern is unchanged in centuries. Its trouser shape with gussets in tough, waxy feel moleskin makes it a striking garment. Very fitting at the waist and hips, it gives a slender figure.

Despite being a traditional garment, they are as modern as trousers from Marithe, Francois Girbaud or a creation of an avant-garde Japanese designer.

Culottes are always in fashion, resolutely modern and sharp. They are close to a very well cut pair of trousers.

With their sharp cut, they can be worn just as well with boots, or trainers, moccasins or even roman sandals... And why not with heels?

With a plain T-shirt or a smart top, this traditional cut is always fashionable. Away from the plains of Camargue, it retains its authentic feel.

Created to be both robust and elegant, your Culottes will withstand daily horse-riding practice, never go out of fashion and last for a long time.
